THE STRAW CARPET FACT SHEET
The rugs are handmade in New York of 100% straw braid. No child or slave labor is used in the production of these rugs. Each rug is individually hand-sewn to order.
The straw is hand dyed for each order. The inconsistencies and variations of the colors are characteristic of the dyeing process and is no way to be considered a defect, but rather an inherent property of the straw.
Color choices can be made from our 25 standard colors or we can dye to match your swatches, or a combination of both. Exact color matching in not guaranteed. “Custom Color” lab dips will be sent for approval prior to starting your carpet.
All patterns are available in various color combinations and sizes. The carpet patterns are custom color-way.
Each rug is sealed with an oil based finish that is impervious to most stains. The bottom of each carpet is backed with jute and coated with non-skid rubber latex. Although we do not require a pad, choosing to place a very thin rug pad underneath the straw carpet is your choice to make- considering floor surface and traffic.
The circular carpets are available in six-inch increments, starting from a six foot up to twelve feet in diameter.
Call it granny pop.
