In 1994, these two young men, who had become acquainted when both worked in the millinery industry, decided to merge their distinctive but complementary talents. The result is ALEMAN / MOORE. This happy amalgamation has resulted into a fabulous line of magnificent sewn straw carpets, which are fast becoming favorites worldwide. These sewn straw carpets have evolved from an overgrown hat brim into fully functional and durable works of art for the floor.

In the fall of 2002, ALEMAN / MOORE moved their operations from Brooklyn, New York to Columbia County. In their new expanded country studio ALEMAN / MOORE are continuing with their line of straw carpets and expanding on their sewn straw art pieces which include one-of-a- kind baskets, totems and wall hangings.

In 1997, ALEMAN/MOORE was awarded the Editors Choice Award, for their straw carpets, at The International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF). The work of ALEMAN / MOORE has been featured in many shelter magazines including Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Interior Design, The World of Interiors, House & Garden, and Traditional Home.
